Case Presentation:

ACOM Aneurysm - Case 1


History & Physical

 

  • 61-year-old woman presented with severe headache followed by sudden loss of consciousness.



Imaging

CT scan of the patient’s brain shows a severe subarachnoid hemorrhage and hydrocephalus (yellow arrows show enlarged ventricles).

CTA (Computed Tomographic Angiography) of the patient's brain showed a complex anterior communicating aneurysm.

MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography), and four-vessel Cerebral angiography confirmed a complex multi-lobulated anterior communicating aneurysm which was not amenable to interventional approach due to its complex morphology.



Surgical Procedure

 

  • Patient underwent supraorbitalcraniotomy and clipping of the aneurysm.
