Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) Overview:

  • Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) is the most common primary brain tumor.

  • GBM has a male predominance and is mostly located in the deep frontal and temporal regions of the brain.

  • Treatment modalities include surgical resection (used in selected cases biopsy only), radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.

  • Gross total resection of this tumor has been shown in some studies to increase both life expectancy and quality of life, although complete resection at the microscopic level is considered impossible.
